Amelio A. D'Onofrio, PhD, is clinical professor and director of the Psychological Services Institute in the Graduate School of Education at Fordham University. He has served on the faculty of Fordham University since 1994 where he trains doctoral students in the art and science of psychotherapy.

In addition to his teaching and private practice, Dr. D'Onofrio consults to schools and mental health agencies on matters related to psychological, emotional, and spiritual development and on the power of human relationships to be transformative and healing. He lectures widely on the treatment of trauma, attachment issues in psychotherapy, and on the training and supervision of therapists.

He is author of Adolescent Self-Injury: A Comprehensive Guide for Counselors and Health Care Professionals (Springer Publishing, 2007).
